Anger 2.0 – breaking into my Mother’s house

by Kieran on August 1, 2009

Sometime Thursday afternoon a couple of “kids” broke into my Mother’s house. Damage to the window they went through was minimal, no one was hurt and only a few items were taken. Robberies happen in every neighborhood, no matter how safe you think it is, this is just a fact of life. However, I am still a bit shocked for a couple reasons. First, it was in broad daylight and since it is summer time, there are a lot of people home and in the neighborhood. Secondly, my Mother’s house is in a “no outlet” area – meaning there is one way out and one way in. This obviously doesn’t prevent crime but it certainly should deter it. Oh well, what can you do? My suggestion would be to get a big dog but I doubt my Mom would go for that.

Rest assured I will be driving past my Mother’s house on a daily basis and god help anyone I find messing with my Mom’s house. the thought of someone breaking into the house where my Mom lives, the house where I grew up, drives me nuts and infuriates me.
