The other day I wanted to see where the 2009 Box Office stood-of the top 25 movies, which I happened to see most of them, only a handful were worth the price of admission.
Here is a quick rundown…
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – sucked
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – same movie as the previous but with more effects
Up – best movie I saw in 2009?
The Hangover – Old School, Super Bad, Knocked Up, Wedding Crashers…the Hangover was really funny but this is getting old.
Star Trek – much better then the previous 3 Star Trek Movies, but that isn’t saying much.
Monsters Vs. Aliens – passed on seeing it
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs – mildly entertaining
X-Men Origins: Wolverine – SUCKED, could have been so much better
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian – no where as good as the original
The Proposal – I would rather lose a foot then see this.
Fast and Furious – No, thanks.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop – head it was funny but worth waiting until it plays on FOX
Taken – decent
Angels & Demons – big disappointment
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - another movie that could have been SO much better
Terminator Salvation – sucked
G-Force – passed
Watchmen – I own the graphic novel, that is good enough for me
Public Enemies – thought it was about the rap group, I was wrong
He’s Just Not That Into You – funny
District 9 - Amazing
Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail – yeah, no thanks
The Ugly Truth – passed
Knowing – fell asleep
Hannah Montana The Movie – Am I a 13 year old girl?
Not only did most of these movies suck but I few were serious disappointments. Wolverine and GI Joe by themselves should have been classics – yet both were a major let down.
We need movie studios to start making movies that arent just about bringing in $300mm, we need classics. The movies that we want to see multiple times AND own the DVD AND watch everytime it comes on tv.
